NFL Week 15 – Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a sprained throwing shoulder during Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Hurts’ status for Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys is in jeopardy. Pelissero added that the team’s goal is for Hurts to be fully healthy for his eventual return to play.

Hurts is currently a contender for NFL MVP behind Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes, according to Vegas Insider. Hurts ranks top-ten in both passing DYAR and passing DVOA among quarterbacks while also currently ranking fifth among quarterbacks in rushing DVOA. Hurts has already set new career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and rushing touchdowns; he is 38 yards shy of breaking his season-high rushing total.

Philadelphia could clinch both the NFC East and the top seed in the NFC with a win over the Cowboys. The Eagles won their first matchup against in-division rival Dallas, with Hurts throwing for 155 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for an additional 27 yards.
